Thomas Kosten is a third-year medical student with interests in Trauma Surgery and Critical Care. Originally from Northern Virginia, he served as a combat medic in the U.S. Army before moving to Anchorage, Alaska with his wife. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology with a focus on bioinformatics and microbial genetics. His postgraduate work centered on applying machine learning to automate research processes and streamline data analysis.
His current research focuses on AI implementation within medical systems. Upon completion of his training, Thomas intends to return to Alaska and leverage AI-driven solutions to enhance healthcare system efficiency and capacity, with the goal of reducing healthcare disparities in resource-limited state.
