Bud and Sue Selig Hub for Surgical Data Science

Specifically:  

• Foster Collaborative Research: The Selig Hub will be the collaborative home for experts in data science, AI, machine learning, and surgery. This will encourage cross-disciplinary cooperation, fostering innovative research and data-driven solutions. 

• Solve Time-Sensitive, Data-Focused Challenges: The Selig Hub will craft responsive data science solutions to address time-sensitive and high-priority challenges faced by those affected by and treating surgical conditions. This will enable timely interventions and, in turn, elevate surgical outcomes for our communities. 

• Knowledge Sharing and Education: The Selig Hub will be a platform for education and enhance data science literacy among healthcare professionals, empowering them with the skills needed to embrace advanced analytics. This will nurture a culture of data-driven innovation in healthcare organizations.  

• Provide Data Science and AI Support: The Selig Hub will centralize expertise and administrative support for conducting high-quality, high-impact projects at the intersection between data science, artificial intelligence, and surgery. This will align efforts that are currently siloed, maximize efficiency, and promote innovation.
