Carson was a medical and graduate student at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison for his undergraduate degree, where he majored in Biomedical Engineering.
Carson's research focused on utilizing the NIH's All of Us Research Program to improve care for oncology patients. He investigated the use of wearable devices (i.e., Fitbits) as tools for preoperative risk stratification in surgery patients. Additionally, he used All of Us genomic data to discover new genetic markers that may predict adverse outcomes in patients receiving radiation for their cancer and for patients undergoing surgery.
Outside of school, Carson enjoys running and biking, cooking, reading, and playing guitar.
